Which industries commonly use Pipe Thread Sealant?

Pipe Thread Sealant is widely used in plumbing, HVAC, gas distribution, hydraulic systems, petrochemical plants, water treatment facilities, and industrial manufacturing.

How much pressure can Pipe Thread Sealant withstand?

Depending on the formulation and application, high-performance thread sealants can withstand pressures up to 69 MPa (10,000 psi).

What materials can Pipe Thread Sealant be used on?

It is suitable for most metal threaded fittings, including steel, stainless steel, brass, copper, and aluminum.

Can Pipe Thread Sealant replace PTFE Tape?

Yes. In many industrial applications, Pipe Thread Sealant can replace PTFE Tape and provide a more reliable and durable seal.

What is the difference between Pipe Thread Sealant and PTFE Tape?

PTFE Tape mainly fills thread gaps mechanically, while Pipe Thread Sealant forms a chemical seal after curing, providing higher pressure resistance, better vibration resistance, and long-term sealing performance.

Does Thread Sealing Cord require curing time?

No. The system can be pressurized and put into service immediately after installation.

How much pressure can Thread Sealing Cord withstand?

High-quality Thread Sealing Cord can withstand pressures up to 69 MPa (10,000 psi), depending on thread type and installation conditions.

Can Thread Sealing Cord be used on plastic fittings?

Yes. Thread Sealing Cord is suitable for both metal and plastic threaded fittings, making it ideal for a wide range of plumbing and industrial applications.

What is the difference between Thread Sealing Cord and PTFE Tape?

Thread Sealing Cord is easier to install, provides more consistent sealing performance, allows post-installation adjustment, and is less prone to tearing during application.

What is the difference between Thread Sealing Cord and PTFE Tape?

How does Thread Sealing Cord work?

Thread sealing cord fills the gaps between male and female threads, creating a pressure-resistant seal that prevents leakage of liquids and gases.

Is testing required after installation?

Yes. Pressure or leak testing is strongly recommended, especially for gas and critical systems.

Can it be used immediately after installation?

Yes. No curing time is required.

Is additional sealant required?

No. PTFE tape is a standalone mechanical sealing material.
